Campus France and French university admissions

Georgian applicants to French universities go through the Études en France procedure managed by Campus France in Tbilisi, uploading scanned documents with French translations before the interview. The platform asks for the baccalauréat equivalent (the Georgian school leaving certificate and national exam results), the diploma and relevé de notes for each year of higher education, attestations de scolarité and language certificates. Campus France accepts certified translations with our stamp for the upload; French universities and préfectures later require the same documents apostilled and notarized for enrollment and the titre de séjour étudiant. We translate the full Georgian packet in one business day, use the standard French equivalents for Georgian course names and grading, and note the Georgian 100-point scale in a translator's note where the receiving institution asks.

ENIC-NARIC France and the attestation de comparabilité

Employers, professional orders and some universities in France ask for an attestation de comparabilité from ENIC-NARIC France (France Éducation international), which assesses Georgian qualifications from certified translations of the diploma and the supplement. The submission is online; the translation must be complete, including the reverse side, seals and any recognition stamps, and ENIC-NARIC rejects abbreviated supplements. We prepare the packet in the format the platform expects. Regulated professions have their own routes: nurses through the ARS and the Ordre des infirmiers, doctors through the procédure d'autorisation d'exercice, engineers through the CTI or employers, teachers through the rectorat, and each requires translations of syllabi, clinical hours or teaching records in addition to the diploma. Our medical translators, who are physicians, handle clinical course names for these files.

Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Québec universities and recognition

Belgian French-speaking universities (UCLouvain, ULB, ULiège, UMons, UNamur) and the equivalence procedure of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles require apostilled Georgian diplomas with certified or sworn French translations; the equivalence service is strict about translations of the full course list. Swiss universities in Geneva, Lausanne, Fribourg and Neuchâtel and swissuniversities' recognition service accept certified translations with apostilled originals. Luxembourg's Ministry of Higher Education follows the French model. Québec's Évaluation comparative des études effectuées hors du Québec by MIFI requires a translation with a sworn affidavit, which we include, and Québec universities and professional orders follow suit. We adapt the packet to each system rather than sending one generic version.

French degrees for recognition and employment in Georgia

A French, Belgian or Swiss degree used in Georgia - for a work permit, for a teaching, medical or engineering position, for admission to a Georgian master's or doctoral program, or for recognition at the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement - must be apostilled in its country of origin and translated into Georgian and notarized in Tbilisi. We translate the diplôme, the relevé de notes, the supplément au diplôme and, when recognition is sought, course descriptions. French medical and dental graduates should expect the recognition body to ask for translated proof of clinical training (the internat and DES), and French-trained nurses for the diplôme d'État and training records. Graduates of French grandes écoles sometimes need a translator's note explaining the grande école system to a Georgian committee, which we provide.

School certificates, student status letters and language certificates

French-speaking families enrolling children in Tbilisi's French school, in international schools or in Georgian public schools need the child's bulletins scolaires, certificats de scolarité and attestations translated so the child is placed in the right year; families moving to France need Georgian school records translated for the rectorat and the school. Students need attestations de scolarité and student status letters in the other language for visas, residence permits, banks and family benefits. Language certificates - DELF and DALF results translated into Georgian for Georgian employers, and Georgian or English proficiency certificates translated into French for French universities - are handled the same day.

Lettres de motivation, CVs, recommendations, doctoral files and timing

Not everything academic is a certificate. Georgian applicants to French-language programs ask us to translate or, more often, to edit lettres de motivation and projets d'études so they read naturally to a French admissions committee, and to translate lettres de recommandation from Georgian professors while preserving the signature block. CVs are adapted to French conventions, which differ from anglophone ones in length and content. Doctoral candidates and researchers need thesis abstracts, publication lists and conference certificates translated, and articles proofread before submission to French journals. Native French editors with academic backgrounds handle these texts.

On timing: Campus France deadlines fall in winter for the following autumn, ENIC-NARIC processing takes several months, and the apostille on a Georgian diploma can take up to five business days. Start the apostille early, since the apostilled diploma is reusable, and ask us for a digital certified translation first so you can upload it while the paper originals are in process.
