Registering a Georgian company with Danish founders
A Danish ApS or A/S founding a Georgian subsidiary, branch or representative office submits a Georgian translation of its udskrift from the CVR register (Erhvervsstyrelsen), its vedtægter, the generalforsamlingsreferat or bestyrelsesbeslutning approving the Georgian entity, and a fuldmagt if a local representative files; the CVR udskrift is a digital document that must be certified by a notarius publicus or Erhvervsstyrelsen before the Udenrigsministeriet apostilles it, notarial fuldmagter are apostilled directly, and all are notarized in Tbilisi. Individual Danish founders submit a translated passport. We draft the Georgian charter bilingually with a parallel Danish or English column so the founder signs a text they can read, and we know the wording the National Agency of Public Registry expects for selskabskapital, direktion, bestyrelse and hjemsted. After registration, the Georgian Public Registry extract and charter are translated into Danish or English for the parent, its bank and its revisor.
Aftaler between Danish and Georgian parties
Georgian law permits contracts in any language, but the Georgian version is what a registry or court reads, so cross-border contracts are drafted bilingually, usually with English as the working language and Danish and Georgian as the legal ones. We translate købsaftaler for property and equipment, lejekontrakter, ansættelseskontrakter for Danish staff seconded to Georgia and Georgian staff of Danish companies, leverings- and distributionsaftaler for Danish products in Georgia, konsulentaftaler, ejeraftaler, låneaftaler and garantier, fortrolighedsaftaler and franchiseaftaler. The translator is a legal specialist who keeps defined terms and numbering consistent and flags where a Danish concept - the roles of direktion and bestyrelse under the selskabslov, ejerpant and virksomhedspant, konventionalbod, the funktionærlov's protections in employment contracts - needs a lawyer's decision on the Georgian equivalent rather than a translator's guess.
Wind, water, pharmaceuticals and agriculture
Danish industry's presence in Georgia runs through specific sectors with their own contracts. Wind and renewable energy: turbine supply and service agreements, EPC and O&M contracts, grid connection and power purchase documentation for Georgian wind projects using Danish technology. Water and district heating: supply and engineering contracts with Georgian utilities and municipalities, often under donor-funded procurement. Pharmaceuticals: distribution agreements, pharmacovigilance agreements, quality agreements and regulatory documents for Danish products registered in Georgia. Agriculture and food: supply and licensing agreements for dairy and pig farming systems, genetics and processing equipment, and veterinary product registration. We translate these between Danish, Georgian and English with lawyers and engineers or pharmacists working together, keeping defined terms, technical schedules and regulatory references consistent, and maintaining project glossaries.
NGO and development program documentation
Danish organizations in Georgia - the Danish Refugee Council, Danida-funded programs, Danish NGOs in civil society, human rights and rural development, and Danish foundations - produce grant agreements with Georgian partners, program documents, procurement under Danish and donor rules, results frameworks, progress and final reports, audits and evaluations, and memoranda with Georgian ministries and municipalities. We translate these between Danish, Georgian and English with translators familiar with development terminology and with the Georgian public sector, we provide interpreters for the meetings that generate them, and we maintain project glossaries and translation memories across multi-year programs.
Court judgments, arbitration, succession and enforcement
Danish judgments in family, commercial and succession matters - domme of the byretter and landsretter, and Familieretshuset decisions - are recognized and enforced in Georgia through proceedings requiring notarized Georgian translations of the decision, proof of finality and supporting documents, all apostilled. Georgian judgments and notarized loan deeds go the other way for enforcement through the fogedret, translated into Danish and notarized and apostilled. Arbitration under the Danish Institute of Arbitration, the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, the ICC or the Georgian International Arbitration Centre produces bilingual submissions, witness statements, expert reports and awards which we translate under procedural deadlines. Succession files - Danish skifteretsattester and testamenter concerning Georgian property, and Georgian inheritance certificates for Danish skifteretten - and the divorce and property division files of Danish-Georgian couples are handled by the same team. Litigation files are handled under NDA with restricted access.
Årsrapporter, tax documents, tenders, confidentiality and how projects run
Georgian subsidiaries of Danish groups report to head office under the årsregnskabslov or IFRS, and Danish investors present accounts to Georgian banks, lenders and the Revenue Service. We translate årsrapporter, balancer and resultatopgørelser, ledelsesberetninger, revisionspåtegninger, bopælsattester from Skat for treaty relief under the Denmark-Georgia double taxation agreement, moms documents, transfer pricing documentation and bank confirmation letters, with accountants on the team reconciling every figure. Danish companies bid on Georgian state and donor-funded tenders in energy, water and health, and we translate tender documents within days of the notice.
Every translator, editor and courier is bound by a non-disclosure agreement, files are encrypted and access is limited to the assigned team; we sign client-specific NDAs and GDPR-compliant databehandleraftaler for Danish clients. Corporate clients receive a glossary and translation memory from the first project. Projects run in a fixed pattern: fixed quote within the hour, a legal or financial specialist plus a reviewer, questions returned in a single batch, delivery in the original format, and notarization and apostille scheduled in parallel with translation. Framework agreements with monthly invoicing and priority notary slots are available for Danish companies, Danish organizations and law firms serving Danish clients.
