Danish Personal Documents - Translated and Notarized for Georgia and Denmark

The Familieretshuset marriage file, the Danish vielsesattest going home, the SIRI or family reunification file, the CPR registration and the Georgian residence permit file are all built from a handful of personal documents. We translate them precisely, from a photo where the law allows, and notarize in 1-2 hours.

The marriage in Denmark: what the Georgian partner needs

The document set for a Danish wedding is short, which is why couples choose Denmark, but each piece must be right. The Georgian partner provides the passport; proof of legal stay on the wedding date (Georgian citizens enter the Schengen area visa-free for short stays, and those living in another EU country show their residence card); a certificate of marital status from the Georgian Public Service Hall, issued recently, apostilled and translated into Danish, English or German; and, if previously married, the divorce decision with proof of finality or the death certificate of the former spouse, apostilled and translated. Familieretshuset examines the file online, may ask for the couple's documentation of their relationship if it suspects a marriage of convenience, and issues the prøvelsesattest, which the municipality uses to perform the ceremony. We prepare the translated set the same day, keep the transliteration of both partners' names consistent with their passports, and advise on the timing so the certificate is fresh on the application date.

The vielsesattest and Danish civil status documents

After the ceremony the municipality issues a vielsesattest, in Danish and, in the international version, in several languages; for the Georgian Civil Registry it is apostilled by the Udenrigsministeriet, translated into Georgian and notarized here, and the couple registers the marriage in Georgia, which the Georgian partner needs for a name change, for a family residence permit of the Danish spouse, and for any later divorce or inheritance matter in Georgia. Other Danish civil status documents come from two sources: the church registers (kirkebøgerne), which keep civil registration for most of Denmark and issue fødsels- og dåbsattester, fødsels- og navneattester and personattester, and the CPR, which issues bopælsattester and personattester through the kommune and borger.dk; Southern Jutland has its own civil registries. Georgian authorities accept these, apostilled, translated and notarized here, for marriage, family residence permits, inheritance and divorce. Divorce in Denmark is evidenced by the Familieretshuset's bevilling or the court's dom, also apostilled. Every translation mirrors the original field by field.

Pas and kørekort

Danish passports are translated into Georgian for residence permits, company registration, property purchases, bank accounts, lease agreements and marriage at the House of Justice. Because these are standardized documents, we translate and notarize them from a clear photo, without the original, and courier the notarized translation anywhere in Georgia or abroad. Danish kørekort are translated for the Service Agency when exchanging or presenting a license, and for rental and insurance companies. Transliteration of your name into Georgian is fixed at the first translation and kept on file so every subsequent document matches; æ, ø and å are transliterated by consistent rules aligned with the passport's machine-readable line, and the CPR number is reproduced exactly, since Georgian offices use it as an identifier.

Straffeattest and the Georgian conviction certificate

Georgian temporary residence permits require a criminal record check from the applicant's country. For Danish citizens that is the private straffeattest from politiet, ordered online with MitID or at a police station, and apostilled by the Udenrigsministeriet; we translate it into Georgian and notarize it in 1-2 hours. Georgians applying to SIRI and Udlændingestyrelsen do not generally need a conviction certificate, but the Patient Safety Authority, employers in healthcare, childcare and security (who obtain a børneattest for work with children), and permanent residence and citizenship applications do; the Georgian conviction certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs is apostilled and translated into Danish or English, and we treat it as express work.

Child travel consents, bopælsattest and proof of address

Georgian border police require a notarized consent from the non-travelling parent when a minor leaves Georgia with one parent, and Danish police recommend a written samtykkeerklæring in comparable cases. We draft bilingual consents at our notary with an interpreter and translate consents issued in Denmark for use at Georgian borders and schools. The bopælsattest from the CPR and other proof of address are requested by Georgian banks and the Revenue Service for tax residency, and Georgian residence certificates are translated into Danish for Borgerservice, Skat and Udbetaling Danmark.

Kontoudtog, ansættelseskontrakter, pension documents, and how to order

Residence permits, property purchases and Georgian mortgages require proof of income; SIRI asks for the employment contract and salary meeting the scheme's threshold, and Udlændingestyrelsen for the sponsor's income, housing and, for family reunification, the bank guarantee. We translate kontoudtog from Danske Bank, Nordea, Jyske Bank, Nykredit and Sydbank into Georgian, and Georgian statements from TBC, Bank of Georgia and Liberty into Danish or English in a layout Danish offices recognize, along with ansættelseskontrakter, lønsedler, årsopgørelser from Skat, pension statements from ATP and PFA and attester from Udbetaling Danmark. For long statements we translate the header, totals and relevant transactions where the receiving office permits.

To order, send photos of every page, both sides, stamps legible, on WhatsApp; the quote arrives within 15 minutes. Passports and licenses need nothing more. For other documents bring the apostilled original to Agmashenebeli 117 when the translation is ready, or courier it from Batumi, Kutaisi or elsewhere. Delivery is by scan the moment the notary signs, by collection, by same-day courier in Tbilisi or by courier to any city; most personal documents are finished within the same afternoon.

Danish translation - frequently asked questions

How recent must the Georgian marital status certificate be for a wedding in Denmark?+
The Familieretshuset expects a recent document, in practice issued within a few months of the application. Order it when you are ready to apply, and we apostille and translate it within a few days.
Do you need my original passport?+
No. A clear photo of the data page is enough for a notarized passport translation, and the same applies to driving licenses.
What do I do with the Danish vielsesattest after the wedding?+
Have it apostilled by the Udenrigsministeriet, then we translate it into Georgian and notarize it in 1-2 hours for registration at the Georgian Civil Registry.
Which Danish document proves my child's birth for a Georgian residence permit?+
A fødsels- og dåbsattest or fødsels- og navneattest from the church register, or a personattest from the CPR, apostilled by the Udenrigsministeriet. We tell you which to order for your purpose.
