German interpreter at the notary and for property purchases

Georgian law requires an interpreter for any party to a notarial act who does not speak Georgian, and the notary records the interpreter in the deed. German, Austrian and Swiss buyers of apartments in Tbilisi and Batumi, of houses in Kakheti and of land for tourism projects are regular clients at our notary's office at Agmashenebeli 117, where the interpreter is part of the appointment: you receive the bilingual Georgian-German draft in advance, the interpreter reads each clause with you at the signing, and the notary certifies the act in one sitting. Powers of attorney, wills covering Georgian property, marriage contracts and company charters are handled the same way. We also accompany clients to the Public Registry for title registration, to banks for account opening and mortgages, and to the House of Justice for company and marriage registration, and we translate the Public Registry extract and cadastral plan into German for the client's German notary or bank.

Embassy, administrative and court interpreting

Georgian applicants attend interviews at the German Embassy in German or Georgian, and some ask for an interpreter to prepare or to accompany them where permitted. Georgian offices - the Public Service Development Agency for residence permits and citizenship, the Revenue Service, the Service Agency for driving licenses - need a Georgian-speaking interpreter for German clients. In Georgian courts, civil and family matters involving German-speaking parties require the parties to bring their own interpreter, and ours are experienced in the procedural vocabulary of both the Georgian and German legal systems, including Familienrecht and Erbrecht matters that arise from mixed marriages and Georgian property in German estates. We also interpret at police statements and notary depositions, and translate the case file so what you read matches what is said.

Business, development cooperation and conferences

Germany is one of Georgia's largest development partners through GIZ, KfW and the political foundations, and German companies are active in cement, energy, retail, automotive supply, logistics and hospitality. We provide consecutive interpreters for negotiations, audits, site visits, vocational training programs and stakeholder workshops, and simultaneous interpreting with booth equipment for conferences, trainings and government events, including Georgian-German-English configurations and remote simultaneous interpreting through Zoom. Our interpreters prepare from your agenda and glossary, and for technical events - energy, construction, agriculture, vocational education - we assign interpreters with the relevant background. Trade fair support at Berlin, Munich, Cologne and Düsseldorf events is available through remote and on-site partners.

Medical, tourism and personal interpreting

German-speaking visitors and residents use Georgian clinics for dental work, diagnostics, IVF and surgery, and an interpreter at the consultation, followed by translation of the records into German for the Hausarzt and Krankenkasse, is a frequent request. Tourism operators host German, Austrian and Swiss groups in Tbilisi, Kakheti, Svaneti and Tusheti, and we supply German-speaking guides-interpreters for tours, wine tastings and cultural events. For personal matters - school enrollment meetings, landlord negotiations, dealing with utilities and telecom operators, the Service Agency for vehicle registration - we offer hourly accompaniment in Tbilisi.

German localization for Georgian companies selling into the DACH market

Germany, Austria and Switzerland are the largest European market for Georgian wine, tourism, nuts and dried fruit, textiles and increasingly for software and medical tourism, and German-speaking buyers expect German-language websites, catalogs and documentation of a very specific quality. Localization for this market means adapting tone to German commercial conventions, converting units and prices, respecting German typographic rules and the Impressum and data protection texts German law requires, choosing between German, Austrian and Swiss terminology and spelling (including Swiss ss versus ß), and writing meta titles and descriptions that match what German users search. We localize websites, booking engines, wine and product catalogs, technical sheets, mobile apps and e-commerce stores, working directly in your CMS, in JSON and XLIFF or in design files, and we test the result on the live site with native German editors doing the final pass.

Proofreading German written by non-native speakers, and booking

Georgian organizations write a great deal of German: applications to GIZ, KfW, DAAD, the Goethe-Institut and German foundations, academic articles, vocational training materials, hotel and winery brochures, legal opinions for German clients. Native German editors polish that text so it reads as if written in Berlin or Vienna, correcting case, gender, word order and register, and we return tracked changes so your team learns from every edit. For companies producing German content continuously we offer a monthly editing retainer.

To book an interpreter, send the date, place or meeting link, the subject and any documents to prepare from. Consecutive interpreting is billed hourly with a two-hour minimum on site in Tbilisi and no minimum beyond the first hour for remote sessions; simultaneous work is billed by half-day or day with two interpreters alternating. Same-day bookings are usually possible during office hours, and conferences should be reserved a week ahead.

German translation - frequently asked questions

How quickly can a German interpreter attend a notary appointment in Tbilisi?+
Usually within 2 hours during working hours. If the act is done at the notary in our own office, the interpreter is already there.
Do you interpret for GIZ and KfW project events?+
Yes. Development cooperation workshops, trainings and stakeholder meetings in Georgian-German-English are among our most frequent assignments.
Can you localize for Switzerland and Austria separately from Germany?+
Yes. We adapt spelling, terminology, currency, legal texts and Impressum requirements for each market rather than assuming German conventions everywhere.
Is simultaneous interpreting equipment included?+
We supply booths, transmitters and receivers for on-site events, or remote simultaneous interpreting via Zoom and Teams, quoted separately from interpreter fees.
