German Personal Documents - Translated and Notarized for Georgia, Germany, Austria and Switzerland

The embassy visa file, the Standesamt marriage file, the Ausländerbehörde file and the Georgian residence permit file are all built from a handful of personal documents. We translate them precisely, from a photo where the law allows, and notarize them in 1-2 hours.

Reisepässe, Personalausweise and Führerscheine

German, Austrian and Swiss passports and identity cards are translated into Georgian for residence permits, company registration, property purchases, bank accounts, lease agreements and marriage at the House of Justice. Because these are standardized documents, we translate and notarize them from a clear photo, without the original, and courier the notarized translation anywhere in Georgia or abroad. The German Führerschein, the Austrian and Swiss licenses and the older paper licenses are translated for the Service Agency when exchanging or presenting a license, and for rental and insurance companies. Transliteration of your name into Georgian is fixed at the first translation and kept on file so every subsequent document matches; umlauts and ß are transliterated according to the official Georgian rules and consistently with your passport's machine-readable line.

Geburts-, Heirats-, Scheidungs- and Sterbeurkunden

German civil status documents come as Geburtsurkunde, beglaubigter Registerausdruck, mehrsprachige (internationale) Urkunde and Auszug aus dem Familienbuch, and Georgian authorities generally want the standard Urkunde or the Registerausdruck, apostilled by the competent Land authority, translated and notarized here. They are needed for marriage registration in Georgia, for adding a spouse or child to a residence permit, for inheritance and for divorce proceedings. In the other direction, Georgian birth, marriage and death certificates go to German Standesämter for marriage and Beurkundung of foreign births, to the embassy for family reunification, to Nachlassgerichte for successions and to the Familienkasse for Kindergeld; these are apostilled and translated into German, and the translation is often apostilled too. Austrian and Swiss extracts follow the same pattern. Every translation mirrors the original field by field, including Randvermerke, which German registrars check.

Führungszeugnis and the Georgian conviction certificate

Georgian temporary residence permits require a criminal record check from the applicant's country. For German citizens that is the Führungszeugnis from the Bundesamt für Justiz, ordered with apostille; for Austrians the Strafregisterbescheinigung, apostilled by the Land; for Swiss the Strafregisterauszug from the federal office, apostilled by the cantonal chancellery. We translate these into Georgian and notarize them in 1-2 hours. Georgians applying for German visas, Aufenthaltstitel, Einbürgerung or certain jobs - especially in care, education and security - need their Georgian conviction certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs apostilled and translated into German. These certificates have short validity, so we treat them as express work.

Ledigkeitsbescheinigung, Ehefähigkeitszeugnis and marriage abroad

A Georgian marrying in Germany goes through the Ehefähigkeitszeugnis procedure: the German Standesamt requests exemption from the Oberlandesgericht, which requires the Georgian Geburtsurkunde, a Ledigkeitsbescheinigung (marital status certificate from the Public Service Development Agency) and, if previously married, divorce decrees, all apostilled and translated into German, usually with the translations apostilled too and by a sworn translator where the OLG insists. A German citizen marrying in Georgia needs a Ehefähigkeitszeugnis or Ledigkeitsbescheinigung from their Standesamt, apostilled, translated into Georgian and notarized. We prepare both sets and know the validity windows, which are the usual source of delays. After a marriage in Georgia, the German spouse typically asks for the Georgian marriage certificate apostilled and translated for the Nachbeurkundung at the Standesamt, which we include in the same order.

Child travel consents, Meldebescheinigung and proof of address

Georgian border police require a notarized consent from the non-travelling parent when a minor leaves Georgia with one parent, and German authorities ask for an Einverständniserklärung in comparable cases. We draft bilingual consents at our notary with an interpreter and translate consents issued in Germany for use at Georgian borders and schools. Meldebescheinigungen, Aufenthaltsbescheinigungen and other proof of address are requested by Georgian banks and by the Revenue Service for tax residency, and Georgian residence certificates are translated into German for German tax, Krankenkasse and Familienkasse purposes.

Kontoauszüge, Arbeitsverträge, Rentenbescheide, and how to order

Residence permits, property purchases and Georgian mortgages require proof of income; the German Embassy asks Georgians for the same, and Ausländerbehörden ask for Verpflichtungserklärungen and income documents. We translate Kontoauszüge from Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, Sparkassen, Volksbanken, N26, Austrian and Swiss banks into Georgian, and Georgian statements from TBC, Bank of Georgia and Liberty into German in a layout German administrations recognize, along with Arbeitsverträge, Gehaltsabrechnungen, Steuerbescheide, Rentenbescheide and Versicherungsbescheinigungen. For long statements we translate the header, totals and relevant transactions where the receiving office permits.

To order, send photos of every page, both sides, stamps legible, on WhatsApp; the quote arrives within 15 minutes, in German if you prefer. Passports and licenses need nothing more. For other documents bring the apostilled original to Agmashenebeli 117 when the translation is ready, or courier it from Batumi, Kutaisi or elsewhere. Delivery is by scan the moment the notary signs, by collection, by same-day courier in Tbilisi or by courier to any city; most personal documents are finished within the same afternoon.

German translation - frequently asked questions

Which form of my German birth certificate do Georgian authorities want?+
The Geburtsurkunde or the beglaubigter Registerausdruck, apostilled by the competent Land authority. We translate and notarize it in 1-2 hours. The mehrsprachige Urkunde is also accepted but still requires notarized Georgian translation of any German-only fields.
Do you need my original passport?+
No. A clear photo of the data page is enough for a notarized passport translation, and the same applies to driving licenses.
What does the Ehefähigkeitszeugnis procedure require from Georgia?+
Apostilled and translated Geburtsurkunde and Ledigkeitsbescheinigung, plus divorce decrees if applicable. Many Oberlandesgerichte require the translations to be apostilled as well; we prepare the complete bundle.
How fast is a family reunification document set for the embassy?+
Translation of the certificates within a day; apostilles on the originals take a few business days. Allow about a week for the complete bundle.
