🇳🇴 Norwegian translation in Tbilisi
Norwegian Interpreting in Tbilisi and Norwegian Localization for the Norwegian Market
Norwegian hydropower engineers in Svaneti and Adjara, development program officers, energy investors, climbers and skiers in the Caucasus need an interpreter who knows the setting and a language almost nobody else in Georgia speaks, and Georgian wineries need native Norwegian editors to reach Vinmonopolet's buyers and Norway's travelers. We provide both.

Norwegian interpreter at the notary and for property and company matters
Georgian law requires an interpreter for any party to a notarial act who does not speak Georgian, and the notary records the interpreter in the deed. Norwegian buyers of apartments in Tbilisi and Batumi and of houses in the mountains, Norwegian founders of Georgian companies, and parties to fullmakter, wills and marriage contracts use our notary at Agmashenebeli 117 with the interpreter built into the appointment: you receive the bilingual Georgian-Norwegian draft in advance, the interpreter reads each clause with you at the signing, and the notary certifies the act in one sitting. Where a native Norwegian interpreter is not available on short notice, English serves nearly all Norwegian clients with their agreement, and Norwegian by video is available. We also accompany clients to the Public Registry, to banks and to the House of Justice, and we translate the Public Registry extract and cadastral plan into Norwegian for the client's bank or advokat at home.
Hydropower and energy: sites, communities and regulators
Norwegian hydropower companies own and operate plants on Georgian rivers and develop new ones, and their work involves constant communication between Norwegian engineers and managers, Georgian site crews and contractors, local communities in the valleys, municipal authorities, the Ministry of Economy, the energy regulator GNERC and the grid operator. We provide consecutive interpreters for site meetings, commissioning, safety briefings, community consultations and public hearings on environmental and social impact, regulatory meetings and negotiations, in Tbilisi and at sites in Adjara, Svaneti, Racha and Kakheti, billed by day with travel at cost, and simultaneous interpreting for conferences and stakeholder events in Georgian-Norwegian-English configurations. Our interpreters for this sector have engineering backgrounds and know the vocabulary of hydropower, grid connection and environmental assessment in both languages.
Development cooperation, business and conferences
Norway's development cooperation with Georgia - through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norad, the Norwegian Refugee Council and other NGOs, and Norwegian support for energy, governance, displaced persons and civil society programs - brings Norwegian officials, advisors and trainers to Georgian ministries, municipalities and communities regularly, and Norwegian companies in energy, engineering, seafood, IT and consulting have Georgian partners. We provide consecutive interpreters for project meetings, trainings, monitoring visits and negotiations, and simultaneous interpreting with booth equipment for conferences and government events, including Georgian-Norwegian-English configurations and remote simultaneous interpreting through Zoom. Georgian wineries hosting Norwegian importers and Vinmonopolet buyers use our interpreters with the vocabulary of wine and the monopoly's tender process.
Tourism, mountains, medical and personal interpreting
Norwegians are mountain people, and Georgia's Caucasus - Kazbegi, Svaneti, Tusheti, the ski resorts of Gudauri and Bakuriani - draws Norwegian climbers, skiers, hikers and ski tourers in growing numbers; we supply Norwegian-speaking guides-interpreters for tours and expeditions, for wine and food experiences in Kakheti, and for cultural events. Norwegian visitors and residents use Georgian clinics for dental work, diagnostics and treatment, and an interpreter at the consultation, followed by translation of the records into Norwegian for the fastlege and Helfo, is a frequent request. For personal matters - school enrollment meetings, landlord negotiations, dealing with utilities and telecom operators - we offer hourly accompaniment in Tbilisi.
Norwegian localization: Vinmonopolet, tourism and exports
Norway's wine market runs through Vinmonopolet, the state retail monopoly, whose tenders and product listings require importers to submit detailed product documentation and whose customers read Norwegian-language descriptions on the shelf and online; Georgian qvevri wines have found a place in its assortment. Georgian wineries and their Norwegian importers need tasting notes, technical sheets, producer profiles, organic and sustainability documentation and tender responses in precise Norwegian, which we produce with native editors who know Vinmonopolet's format and vocabulary. Beyond wine, we localize tourism websites and booking engines, mountain guiding and ski touring pages, guesthouse and tour listings, real estate pages, restaurant menus, mobile apps and e-commerce stores into Norwegian Bokmål, working directly in your CMS, in JSON and XLIFF files or in design files, adapting tone to Norwegian plain-language conventions, currency (NOK) and units, writing meta titles that match Norwegian search behavior, and testing the result on the live site with native Norwegian editors doing the final pass.
Proofreading, Nynorsk, and booking
Georgian organizations write Norwegian for Norad and Norwegian embassy program applications, project reports, academic collaboration with Norwegian universities and business correspondence. Native Norwegian editors polish that text so it reads as if written in Oslo, correcting word order, definite forms and register, and we return tracked changes so your team learns from every edit; Nynorsk versions are produced on request for institutions that use it. For companies producing Norwegian content continuously we offer a monthly editing retainer.
To book an interpreter, send the date, place or meeting link, the subject and any documents to prepare from. Consecutive interpreting is billed hourly with a two-hour minimum on site in Tbilisi and no minimum beyond the first hour for remote sessions; hydropower site and regional project work is billed by day with travel at cost; simultaneous work is billed by half-day or day with two interpreters alternating. Because native Norwegian interpreters are very few in Georgia, book site visits and conferences a week ahead where possible; English on site and Norwegian by video are available at shorter notice.
