Albanian Legal and Business Translation for Companies, Investors and Clubs Between Georgia and Albania

Albanian construction and hydropower companies, Georgian exporters selling into Albania and Kosovo, clubs signing each other's players, and companies registering subsidiaries across the two countries all need Albanian and Georgian versions of their documents to say the same thing before a registry or a court. We keep them aligned, from the QKB extract to the arbitration award.

Registering a Georgian company with Albanian founders, and an Albanian one with Georgian founders

An Albanian shpk or sha founding a Georgian subsidiary, branch or representative office submits a Georgian translation of its ekstrakt from the Qendra Kombëtare e Biznesit (QKB, the National Business Center, which issues the extract electronically with the NIPT), its statut, the vendim of the founders or assembly approving the Georgian entity and a prokurë if a local representative files; the extract is apostilled electronically or on paper by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, notarial documents on paper, and all are notarized in Tbilisi. Individual Albanian founders submit a translated passport. We draft the Georgian charter bilingually with a parallel Albanian column so the founder signs a text they can read, and we know the wording the National Agency of Public Registry expects for kapitali, administratori and selia. Georgian founders of an Albanian shpk go the other way: the Georgian Public Registry extract, charter and founder's decision are apostilled, translated into Albanian and re-certified where the QKB or the notary asks, and the registration is done online at the QKB, usually within a day.

Kontrata between Albanian and Georgian parties

Georgian law permits contracts in any language, but the Georgian version is what a registry or court reads, so cross-border contracts are drafted bilingually, usually with English or Italian as the working language and Albanian and Georgian as the legal ones. We translate kontrata shitblerjeje for goods, equipment and property, kontrata qiraje, kontrata pune for staff on either side, kontrata furnizimi and distribucioni for Albanian and Georgian products, kontrata sipërmarrjeje for construction, kontrata shërbimi, kontrata huaje and garanci, marrëveshje konfidencialiteti and kontrata franshize. The translator is a legal specialist who keeps defined terms and numbering consistent and flags where an Albanian concept - the kapar, the penalitet, the roles of administrator and këshill mbikëqyrës under the Law on Entrepreneurs and Companies, the Albanian rules on property acquired by foreigners - needs a lawyer's decision on the Georgian equivalent rather than a translator's guess.

Hydropower, construction and tourism development

Albania and Georgia are both hydropower countries with active concession markets and construction sectors, and their developers, contractors, engineering consultancies and investors compare and occasionally combine: concession agreements and power purchase arrangements, EPC and construction contracts under FIDIC, grid connection documentation, environmental and social documents, and the hotel, resort and real estate development contracts that accompany tourism booms on both coasts. We translate these between Albanian, Georgian and English with lawyers and engineers working together, keeping defined terms, technical schedules and regulatory references consistent, and maintaining project glossaries.

Football and sports contracts

Player and coach transfers between Albanian, Kosovar and Georgian clubs produce a specific document set: the professional player's contract or coaching contract, the transfer agreement between clubs, agent agreements, the international transfer certificate through the federations' systems, the player's birth certificate, passport and medical records, and, for foreign players in either country, the work permit and residence file. We translate these with the terminology of the FIFA regulations and of the two federations' rules, on the compressed timelines of transfer windows, and we provide interpreters for negotiations and signings. Disputes go to the federations' arbitration bodies, the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber or the CAS, and we translate submissions and awards for those proceedings.

Court judgments, arbitration and enforcement

Albanian judgments in family, commercial and succession matters - vendime of the district courts, courts of appeal and the High Court - are recognized and enforced in Georgia through proceedings requiring notarized Georgian translations of the decision, the certificate of finality (vërtetim i formës së prerë) and supporting documents, all apostilled. Georgian judgments and notarized loan deeds go the other way for njohja e vendimit të huaj before the Albanian Court of Appeal, translated by a sworn translator and apostilled. Arbitration under the Albanian Chamber of Commerce's arbitration center, the Vienna International Arbitral Centre, the ICC or the Georgian International Arbitration Centre produces bilingual submissions, witness statements, expert reports and awards which we translate under procedural deadlines. Succession files - Albanian dëshmi trashëgimie and testamente concerning Georgian property, and Georgian inheritance certificates for Albanian notaries - are handled by the same team. Litigation files are handled under NDA with restricted access.

Tenders, trade documentation, financial statements and how projects run

Albanian companies bid on Georgian state tenders in construction and engineering, and Georgian companies on Albanian public procurement through the APP electronic system; both require translated qualification documents, financial statements, references and bid texts within days of the notice, and we staff these as a team. Trade generates commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin (including EUR.1 and CEFTA documents on the Albanian side), phytosanitary and veterinary certificates and customs correspondence, which we translate with staff who know both customs systems. Georgian subsidiaries of Albanian companies and Albanian subsidiaries of Georgian ones report to head office and to banks and tax authorities on both sides; we translate pasqyra financiare, bilanci and pasqyra e të ardhurave, raporte auditimi, vërtetim rezidence tatimore, TVSH documents and bank confirmation letters, with accountants on the team reconciling every figure.

Every translator, editor and courier is bound by a non-disclosure agreement, files are encrypted and access is limited to the assigned team; we sign client-specific NDAs and data processing terms aligned with Albania's personal data law and GDPR-style requirements for EU-funded projects. Corporate clients receive a glossary and translation memory from the first project. Projects run in a fixed pattern: fixed quote within the hour, a legal or financial specialist plus a reviewer, questions returned in a single batch, delivery in the original format, and notarization and apostille scheduled in parallel with translation. Framework agreements with monthly invoicing and priority notary slots are available for companies, clubs and law firms working between the two countries.

Albanian translation - frequently asked questions

Can an Albanian shpk register a Georgian subsidiary without the administrator travelling?+
Yes. A prokurë notarized in Albania and apostilled, together with the apostilled QKB extract and statute, is translated and notarized in Tbilisi, and a local representative registers the company at the House of Justice.
Do you translate player contracts within a transfer window?+
Yes. Contracts, transfer agreements and the personal documents for registration are translated within a day, with interpreters available for negotiations and signings.
Which version of a bilingual Albanian-Georgian contract prevails?+
Whatever the language clause states, but if the contract is registered or enforced in Georgia, the Georgian text is what the registry or court reads. Have your Georgian lawyer review the Georgian version before signing.
Can you translate an electronic QKB extract?+
Yes. We verify it through its QR code, translate it with its electronic apostille and notarize the translation with a printout for the Georgian registry.
