🇧🇦 Bosnian translation in Tbilisi
Bosnian-Georgian Translation Services in Tbilisi - For Bosnia and Herzegovina's Entities, Cantons and Courts
Bosnia and Herzegovina issues documents through two entities, ten cantons and a district, in a language with three official names and two scripts, and certifies translations through court interpreters appointed at cantonal, entity and district level. Georgia and Bosnia share visa-free travel, EU aspirations, growing trade and a small but real flow of students, workers, spouses and companies. We translate between Bosnian and Georgian to the standard Bosnian courts, the Služba za poslove sa strancima and Georgian offices expect, and we know which of Bosnia's many authorities issued your document.

Bosnian and Georgian: two small countries on the road to the EU
Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have more in common than distance suggests: both emerged from the wars of the 1990s with displaced populations and unresolved territories, both are EU candidates, both have large diasporas in Germany, Austria and Italy, and both export wine, water and hospitality. The practical connections are modest but steady. Bosnian citizens travel to Georgia visa-free and Georgians to Bosnia the same way; Bosnian and Georgian students attend each other's universities on Erasmus+ and bilateral exchanges; Bosnian companies in wood, furniture, metal processing, construction and food trade with Georgian partners and Georgian wine and mineral water reach Sarajevo and Banja Luka; Bosnian footballers and coaches work in Georgian clubs and Georgian players in Bosnian ones; Bosnian and Georgian NGOs cooperate on post-conflict and EU integration programs; and Bosnian-Georgian marriages produce the civil status paperwork that follows. Bosnia's diaspora in Western Europe also meets Georgia's there, and documents move between the two through Germany and Austria.
Bosnia's document system reflects its constitution. The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska and Brčko District each run their own registries, courts and ministries, and the Federation's ten cantons run their own too, so a rodni list from Tuzla, a diploma from Banja Luka and a company extract from Brčko come from different systems with different forms and, in Republika Srpska, often in Cyrillic. Court interpreters (sudski tumači, or stalni sudski tumači) are appointed by cantonal ministries of justice in the Federation, by the Ministry of Justice of Republika Srpska and by the Brčko District judicial commission, and their stamped translation is the official form throughout the country; none has ever been appointed for Georgian. Georgia has the notarized translation. Our Bosnian team at David Agmashenebeli Ave 117 - Georgian sworn translators trained in Sarajevo, native Bosnian editors and a partner sudski tumač in Sarajevo for English-bridge re-certification - navigates all of this.
Translation directions, scripts and the three-name language
- Georgian → Bosnian: birth, marriage and death certificates, conviction certificates, diplomas and transcripts, court decisions, Public Registry extracts, medical records and contracts leaving Georgia for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Notarized in Tbilisi and apostilled, prepared for sudski tumač re-certification where required.
- Bosnian → Georgian: pasoši and lične karte, vozačke dozvole, rodni, vjenčani and smrtni listovi, uvjerenja o državljanstvu, uvjerenja o nekažnjavanju, diplome and uvjerenja o položenim ispitima, izvodi iz sudskog registra, punomoći, ugovori o radu and bank statements entering the Georgian system, always notarized in Georgia. Passports and driving licenses are translated from a photo without a visit.
- Bosnian ↔ English: direct translation for companies working in English and for university admissions.
Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian are mutually intelligible standards of one language, and Bosnia's constitution names all three as official; a document from Sarajevo is in Bosnian, from Mostar often in Croatian, from Banja Luka in Serbian and frequently in Cyrillic, and all are accepted everywhere in the country. We read both scripts, translate into the Bosnian standard by default and into Croatian or Serbian when the recipient expects it, and we keep the vocabulary of Bosnian administration - općina, kanton, matična knjiga, JMBG - consistent. Bosnian names are transliterated into Georgian by consistent rules aligned with the passport, with č, ć, đ, š and ž handled uniformly and the JMBG reproduced exactly.
