Notarized and Certified Croatian Translation - Stalni Sudski Tumač and the Georgian Notary
Croatia appoints court translators through its county courts; Georgia notarizes translations. We produce the Georgian format for Georgian authorities in 1-2 hours, and Croatian translations built to pass the MUP, the HZZ and the matični ured through a sudski tumač without re-translation.

Stalni sudski tumač, ovjereni prijevod and the Georgian notarized translation
In Croatia an ovjereni prijevod is produced by a stalni sudski tumač appointed by a županijski sud for a specific language, listed in the Ministry of Justice's register; the translator binds the translation to the original or a certified copy with a potvrda and a round stamp, and this alone gives the document official value. Croatian offices require this form for foreign documents. No sudski tumač is registered for Georgian, so Georgian documents have traditionally reached Croatian offices through an English relay translation, adding cost and error. Georgia has no sworn-translator register; the official form here is the translation notarized by a Georgian notary, who certifies the signature of a translator registered with that notary as competent in Croatian.
Our solution connects the two directly: we translate the Georgian original into Croatian here, notarize it, apostille it, and forward the text to a partner sudski tumač for English in Zagreb who re-certifies it as a translation reviewed against the apostilled original, which Croatian offices accept in practice. An ovjereni prijevod from Croatia is, from Georgia's point of view, a foreign notarial act; for use in Georgia the translation must be notarized here.
The dozvola za boravak i rad: MUP, HZZ and the employer
Most Georgians going to Croatia go for work. The dozvola za boravak i rad is applied for by the Croatian employer at the MUP's policijska uprava, after the HZZ (Croatian Employment Service) confirms through a labor market test that no domestic worker is available or that the occupation is exempt; seasonal permits for tourism and agriculture and the EU Blue Card for qualified positions follow similar routes. The worker's file requires the Georgian passport, the Georgian conviction certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (apostilled, translated, valid for a limited period), proof of qualifications where the job requires them, a health certificate for some positions, and for family members marriage and birth certificates; the MUP requires sudski tumač translations. Since Croatia's Schengen accession the permit is more valuable and the MUP more careful. We assemble the translated set to match the MUP's list for your category, keep your name's transliteration identical across every document, arrange the re-certification, and for agencies sending groups we process the group as one project with per-worker rates.
Matični uredi, javni bilježnici, courts and the OIB
Matični uredi (registry offices) registering a marriage or a foreign birth are the strictest Croatian offices and require ovjereni prijevodi of apostilled Georgian civil status documents; the matični ured also handles the procedure for Georgians marrying in Croatia and issues the domovnica and rodni list for Croatian citizens. Javni bilježnici (public notaries) handling property transactions, inheritance and powers of attorney require ovjereni prijevodi of foreign documents, as do the courts and the zemljišne knjige (land registry) for property registration. Every foreigner in Croatia needs an OIB (personal identification number) from the Porezna uprava, which requires the passport and, for some purposes, translated documents. For all of these we prepare the Croatian text and arrange re-certification.
Croatian documents for Georgian authorities
Any Croatian-language document used in Georgia must be translated into Georgian and notarized here. The most frequent are putovnice, osobne iskaznice and vozačke dozvole (translated from a photo, no visit needed), rodni and vjenčani listovi and the domovnica for marriage registration, family residence permits and citizenship matters, the uvjerenje o nekažnjavanju for residence permits, diplomas for work permits and recognition, izvadci iz sudskog registra, društveni ugovori and punomoći for company registration, ugovori o radu and izvodi iz banke for proof of income, and potvrde from the HZMO or HZZO. Croatian public documents must carry an apostille - issued by the općinski sud (municipal court) for most documents and by the Ministry of Justice for certain categories - before the translation is notarized. Marriage between Georgian and Croatian citizens, and children of mixed families, generate matched document sets that we prepare with identical transliteration; Croatian č, ć, đ, š and ž are transliterated by consistent rules.
Marriage, family and residence files between the two countries
Georgians marrying in Croatia present to the matični ured the Georgian rodni list, a marital status certificate serving as potvrda o slobodnom bračnom stanju, proof of identity and residence and, if previously married, divorce decisions, all apostilled and translated by a sudski tumač; matični uredi want civil status documents less than six months old. Croatian citizens marrying in Georgia need a potvrda o slobodnom bračnom stanju from their matični ured, apostilled, translated into Georgian and notarized. After a marriage in either country, the certificate is apostilled and translated for the other country's registry. Children born in Georgia to Croatian parents need the Georgian birth certificate apostilled and translated for the matični ured and Croatian citizenship; children born in Croatia to Georgian parents need the Croatian rodni list apostilled and translated for the Georgian embassy. We prepare these as matched sets with identical transliteration.
Certified translation without notarization, and when it is enough
Not every recipient needs the notary or the sudski tumač. Croatian universities for admission, employers for initial screening, landlords, insurers and online portals often accept a certified translation with our agency stamp and translator statement, which is quicker and cheaper. The MUP, matični uredi, javni bilježnici, Georgian courts, registries, the Public Service Hall and banks do not. Tell us who will receive the document and we recommend the right level; a certified translation can be upgraded to a notarized and re-certified one later without re-translating. For clients who submit everything online we issue digitally signed PDFs, and we print, stamp and courier the same file when paper is required.
