Malay Personal Documents - Translated and Notarized for Georgia, Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore
The marriage of a Malaysian and a Georgian, the residence permit of a Malaysian student, the family file of a Bruneian employee and the estate of a Malaysian who owned property in Georgia are all built from personal documents with Malaysian-specific forms, names and religious dimensions. We translate them precisely, explain what needs explaining, and notarize in 1-2 hours.

Malay names and the bin/binti convention
Malay names have no family surname: a person carries a given name followed by bin (son of) or binti (daughter of) and the father's given name, so that Ahmad bin Ismail's daughter is Nur Aisyah binti Ahmad, and a married woman keeps her own name. Malaysian passports print the whole name in one field, MyKad the same, and Georgian registries and the Public Service Development Agency read a parent and a child as having different "surnames" and a married couple as unrelated unless told otherwise. Malaysian Chinese names (family name first, sometimes with an English given name) and Malaysian Indian names (given name, then a/l or a/p - anak lelaki or anak perempuan - and the father's name) follow their own conventions, and Bruneian names add honorifics and titles (Awang, Dayang, Haji, Hajah, Pengiran) that appear on documents. We transliterate into Georgian from the passport, keep the same arrangement on every document we translate for a person, and attach a translator's note explaining the convention; Georgian offices accept this consistently, and we keep the note on file for every later document.
Passport, MyKad, Bruneian identity card and driving license
Malaysian passports and MyKad, which carries the 12-digit identity number encoding birth date and place, religion (for Muslims) and address, and Bruneian passports and identity cards, are translated into Georgian for residence permits, university enrollment, employment, bank accounts, lease agreements, marriage at the House of Justice, company registration and property purchases. Because these are standardized documents, we translate and notarize them from a clear photo, without the original, and courier the notarized translation anywhere in Georgia. Malaysian and Bruneian driving licenses are translated for the Service Agency and for rental and insurance companies. The MyKad number is reproduced exactly, since Georgian offices use it as an identifier, and the religion field, which Georgian offices do not expect on an identity card, is translated as printed with a note.
JPN certificates: sijil kelahiran, sijil perkahwinan and sijil kematian
Malaysia's National Registration Department (JPN) issues the sijil kelahiran (birth certificate), the sijil perkahwinan (civil marriage certificate for non-Muslims) and the sijil kematian (death certificate), bilingual in Malay and English on standard forms, with certified extracts available for older records; Georgian authorities accept them, legalized by Wisma Putra and the Georgian mission, translated and notarized here, for marriage registration, family residence permits, inheritance and divorce proceedings. JPN also issues the certificate of single status (or a marriage search result) that a Malaysian non-Muslim needs to marry in Georgia. In the other direction, Georgian birth, marriage and death certificates go to JPN for registration of events abroad and to the Immigration Department for dependant passes; these are legalized through the chain and translated into Malay or English. Every translation mirrors the original field by field, with the name note attached.
Syariah documents: sijil nikah, sijil cerai, letters of no impediment and conversion certificates
Malaysian Muslims' marriages, divorces and conversions are documented by the state religious departments and the Syariah courts, not by JPN: the sijil nikah (marriage certificate) issued by the state Jabatan Agama Islam, often with Jawi script and the wali and witnesses recorded; the sijil cerai or the Syariah court's divorce order, which records talaq, fasakh or khuluk; the surat kebenaran berkahwin or letter of no impediment that a Malaysian Muslim obtains from the religious department before marrying abroad; and the kad Islam or sijil pengislaman (conversion certificate) that a convert receives, which a Georgian partner who converts to marry under Malaysian law must obtain from a recognized body. Georgian offices meet these in marriage and family residence files, and Malaysian religious departments meet Georgian civil documents when a marriage concluded in Georgia is registered. We translate all of these with the terminology of Malaysian Islamic family law rendered accurately in Georgian, explain the documents in a translator's note, and prepare the Georgian partner's conversion and civil documents for legalization and translation into Malay where a couple chooses the Malaysian route.
Police clearance and the Georgian conviction certificate
Georgian temporary residence permits require a criminal record check from the applicant's country. For Malaysian citizens that is the certificate of good conduct issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia on the basis of a Royal Malaysia Police check, applied for online through Wisma Putra's system and issued with the ministry's own certification, then legalized by the Georgian mission and translated here in 1-2 hours; Bruneian citizens obtain a police clearance from the Royal Brunei Police Force. Georgians applying for Malaysian employment passes, and some Malaysian employers and universities, need the Georgian conviction certificate legalized and translated into Malay or English. Both are accepted for limited periods, and we sequence them last in any chain.
Marriage in Georgia, marriage in Malaysia, child travel consents, bank statements, and how to order
A Malaysian marrying in Georgia presents the passport and a certificate of single status (JPN) or a letter of no impediment (religious department), legalized and translated into Georgian, and the House of Justice registers the civil marriage; a Malaysian Muslim who wants the marriage recognized at home then registers it with the state religious department, which requires the Georgian certificate legalized and translated into Malay and the spouse's conversion documentation. A Georgian marrying in Malaysia goes through JPN (non-Muslim) or the state religious department (Muslim) with the Georgian birth certificate, certificate of marital status and, where relevant, conversion documents, legalized and translated. Georgian border police require a notarized consent from the non-travelling parent when a minor leaves Georgia with one parent, and Malaysian immigration applies comparable rules; we draft bilingual consents at our notary with an interpreter and translate consents made in Malaysia, with attention to the parent-child name difference. Residence permits and property purchases require proof of income; we translate statements from Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank, RHB, Bank Islam and Bank Rakyat into Georgian, and Georgian statements into Malay or English, along with employment letters, payslips and EPF statements.

Passports and licenses need nothing more. For other documents bring the legalized original to Agmashenebeli 117 when the translation is ready, or courier it from Kutaisi, Batumi or elsewhere. Delivery is by scan the moment the notary signs, by collection, by same-day courier in Tbilisi or by courier to any city; most personal documents are finished within the same afternoon.
