🏛️ Services - certification, legalization, interpreting and localization
Translation Services in Tbilisi - Six Legal Forms, One Office, and a Clear Answer to "Which One Do I Need?"
The same document can be translated in four legally different ways in Georgia, and the receiving authority - not the translator - decides which one counts. This page and the six behind it explain each service as it actually works: the law it rests on, the procedure at our office at David Agmashenebeli Ave 117, what it costs in time, and the situations where people choose the wrong one.

The six services, and what each one is for
- Notarized translation - a Georgian notary certifies the translator's signature under the Law on Notaries; the only form Georgian state bodies, courts, registries and banks accept for foreign documents, and the form most foreign authorities accept from Georgia when apostilled.
- Apostille and consular legalization - the Hague apostille that makes a Georgian public document valid in 125 countries, the consular chain for the rest, and which Georgian agency issues which apostille.
- Certified translation - the agency's stamp and the translator's declaration of accuracy, without a notary; accepted by universities, employers, insurers, most consulates and every online portal, and often all you need.
- e-Notary - the notarized translation as a digitally signed PDF with a qualified electronic signature, valid under Georgian law, verifiable online, and delivered without paper.
- Interpreting services - consecutive, simultaneous, notarial, court, medical and remote interpreting, with the legal rule that makes an interpreter mandatory at a Georgian notary for anyone who does not speak Georgian.
- Localization and proofreading - websites, apps, marketing and documents adapted by native editors for a market, with terminology management and linguistic QA.
How to choose: who will read the document decides
The question we answer most often is not "what does this word mean" but "which form do I need", and the answer depends on the reader, not on the document. A Georgian state body - the Public Service Development Agency, the House of Justice, the National Agency of Public Registry, the Revenue Service, a court, a notary, a bank - requires a notarized translation of any foreign-language document, without exception, and requires the foreign original to be apostilled or legalized. A foreign state body - a civil registry, an immigration office, a court, a recognition body - requires the Georgian original apostilled and its translation either notarized and apostilled, or made by a translator that country authorizes, which for Georgian means a partner abroad re-certifying our text. A university, an employer, an insurer, a landlord, an airline, a hospital and most consulates processing visas accept a certified translation with our stamp, which is faster and cheaper and which can be upgraded to a notarized one later without re-translating. A portal that accepts uploads takes the e-Notary PDF. When you send us a document, we ask where it is going and answer with the form, the sequence and the time before quoting.
What is the same across every service
Every service runs through the same office and the same standards. Translators are registered with our notary for their languages, which is what makes notarization possible, and specialists - lawyers, physicians, engineers, accountants - handle the documents of their fields with a second reviewer. Names are transliterated from the passport and kept consistent across a client's whole file, which prevents the single most common reason files are returned. Every stamp, seal and marginal note is translated. Numbers are checked by a second reader. Fixed quotes are sent within 15 minutes for standard documents and within the hour for projects, and the price does not change when the document arrives. Confidentiality is covered by our standard non-disclosure agreement and, on request, by client-specific NDAs and GDPR-compliant data processing agreements. Delivery is by scan the moment a document is signed, by collection at Agmashenebeli 117 near Marjanishvili Metro, by same-day courier in Tbilisi and by courier to every Georgian city and abroad; while our Batumi and Kutaisi offices are renovated, clients there send originals by courier and receive the finished documents back the same way.
Turnaround across the six services
- Notarized translation: 1-2 hours for standard personal and corporate documents once the original is with us; passports, ID cards and driving licenses from a photo without a visit.
- Certified translation: 1-2 hours for standard documents, delivered by email as a signed PDF.
- e-Notary: the same 1-2 hours, delivered as a qualified-signature PDF.
- Apostille on a Georgian document: one to three business days for civil, notarial and court documents, up to five for education documents; consular legalization for non-Hague countries two to four weeks.
- Interpreting: notarial and consecutive interpreters in the main languages at a day's notice, often same-day; simultaneous and rare-language interpreters a week ahead.
- Localization: a website or app on an agreed schedule, typically one to four weeks; proofreading in one to three days.
Where the services meet the rest of the site
Each of the 49 language pages applies these services to one country's rules - which foreign authority accepts a notarized translation from Georgia, where that country apostilles its own documents, whether it has sworn translators of its own - and each of the document pages applies them to one document type. This page and the six service pages are the layer beneath: how notarization, apostille, certification, e-Notary, interpreting and localization work in themselves, in Georgian law and in practice, so that when a language page says "notarized and apostilled" you know exactly what will happen at the notary's desk and at the state agency's window.
