🇧🇾 Belarusian translation in Tbilisi

Belarusian-Georgian Translation Services in Tbilisi - For the Belarusian Community, IT Relocators and Companies in Georgia

Tens of thousands of Belarusians have made Georgia home since 2020 - IT specialists and their companies, families, students, entrepreneurs - and their paperwork has become one of the largest flows through our office. Belarusian documents come in Russian and Belarusian, Belarus splits its apostille authority among ministries, and since 2023 Belarusian consulates abroad no longer issue passports or accept certain notarial acts, which changes what a Belarusian in Tbilisi can and cannot do from here. We translate between Belarusian, Russian and Georgian to the standard the Public Service Development Agency, Georgian banks and employers expect, and we are honest about what the Belarusian side will accept.

Belarusian and Georgian: a community that arrived fast

Georgia had a Belarusian presence before 2020 - tourists, students, mixed families, the trade in Belarusian tractors, dairy and textiles - but the wave that followed the 2020 events and the 2022 war changed the scale. Belarusian IT companies and their employees, many of them residents of the Hi-Tech Park, relocated to Tbilisi and Batumi in numbers; entrepreneurs opened businesses; families brought children into Georgian and international schools; and Georgia's visa-free year and easy company registration made it one of the two or three main Belarusian destinations alongside Poland and Lithuania. Belarusians now run cafés, coworkings, clinics and agencies in Tbilisi, work remotely for European and American companies through Georgian entities, and appear at the Public Service Development Agency, the Revenue Service, banks, notaries and schools every day with documents from Belarus that need Georgian translations.

Belarus's document system is straightforward in form and complicated in practice. Documents are issued in Russian or Belarusian - both official, with Russian dominant in practice and passports trilingual - and Belarus is a Hague member with apostilles issued by different ministries depending on the document. But since September 2023 Belarusian embassies and consulates have stopped issuing and renewing passports for citizens abroad, and Belarusian law has limited the recognition of powers of attorney and certain other notarial acts executed abroad, so that a Belarusian in Tbilisi who needs to sell a Minsk apartment, renew a passport or obtain a certificate from home faces real constraints. Georgia has the notarized translation. Our Belarusian team at David Agmashenebeli Ave 117 - Georgian sworn translators for Russian and Belarusian, native Belarusian editors and years of experience with the community's files - knows both what Georgia needs and what Belarus will accept.

Translation directions, Belarusian and Russian

  • Georgian → Russian or Belarusian: Georgian birth certificates of children born here, marriage certificates, residence permits, Public Registry extracts, company documents, diplomas, court decisions, medical records and contracts leaving Georgia for Belarus or for other countries that read Russian. Notarized in Tbilisi and apostilled. Belarusian offices accept Russian; Belarusian is produced on request.
  • Belarusian or Russian → Georgian: passports, driving licenses, ZAGS certificates of birth, marriage, divorce and death, certificates of no criminal record, diplomas and transcripts, employment records (трудовая книжка), company documents from the Unified State Register, powers of attorney, bank statements and pension documents entering the Georgian system, always notarized in Georgia. Passports and driving licenses are translated from a photo without a visit.
  • Russian ↔ English: for the many Belarusian IT professionals whose employers, clients and banks work in English.

Belarusian names are transliterated into Georgian by consistent rules aligned with the passport, which carries the name in Belarusian, Russian and a Latin transliteration based on the Belarusian form (so that Уладзімір / Владимир appears as Uladzimir, not Vladimir), and we anchor the Georgian spelling to the passport's Latin line while noting the Russian form where a Georgian office compares against a Russian-language document; the personal number is reproduced exactly.

Belarusian translation - frequently asked questions

Can I renew my Belarusian passport at the embassy in Tbilisi?+
Since September 2023, no; Belarusian embassies do not issue or renew passports for citizens abroad, and renewal requires a visit to Belarus. We translate whatever passport you hold, and we advise on which Georgian procedures accept an expired passport with a residence permit and which do not.
Will a power of attorney notarized in Tbilisi work in Belarus?+
Since 2023 Belarusian law does not recognize powers of attorney for certain transactions, notably real estate and vehicles, unless certified in Belarus or at a Belarusian consulate. We tell you honestly whether the document you need can be done from Georgia and translate it if it can.
Which Belarusian ministry apostilles my diploma?+
The Ministry of Education. ZAGS certificates, notarial and court documents go to the Ministry of Justice, and certificates of no criminal record and most other documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We confirm each document's route.
Is service available in Belarusian?+
Yes, in Belarusian, Russian and English on Telegram, WhatsApp, email and phone.
