Passports, teudat zehut with the sefach, and driving licenses
The Israeli passport is the first document every Israeli in Georgia needs translated: for marriage at the House of Justice, for the residence permit, for property purchase, for company registration, for a bank account and for a lease. We translate and notarize the passport and the תעודת זהות with its ספח (the appendix listing address, children and marital status, which Georgian offices sometimes accept in place of a tamtzit rishum for some purposes) from a clear photo, without the original and without apostille, and courier the notarized translation to you - the only fully online notarized translation in Tbilisi. Israeli driving licenses are translated for the Service Agency, for rental and insurance companies and for employers. The Georgian spelling of your name is fixed at the first translation, following the Latin form in the passport, and kept on file with the Hebrew original; Israelis of Georgian origin whose surnames exist in Hebrew, Georgian and Russian forms have all three recorded.
Tamtzit rishum: the population registry extract
The תמצית רישום ממשרד הפנים is the Israeli document Georgian offices see most often, because it records name, ID number, parents, birth, nationality, marital status and address in one document and is the proof of marital status the House of Justice requires for marriage. It is obtained at Misrad HaPnim or online, in the version showing marital status and, for use abroad, pre-apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We translate it in full, including the Hebrew calendar dates converted with the Gregorian shown alongside, the name history where the extract shows former names, and the apostille, and notarize it in 1-2 hours. For family residence permits and inheritance the extract's parents and children fields serve as the family relationship record, and separate תעודות לידה and נישואין are translated where the office asks for them.
Teudat yosher: the police certificate
Required for every Georgian temporary residence permit and for many employment contracts. The תעודת יושר (certificate of good conduct) is issued by the Israel Police, ordered online or at a police station for the stated purpose of use abroad, and apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Validity is short and Georgian practice treats a certificate older than a few months with suspicion, so obtain it close to the application date. We translate the certificate and the apostille and notarize the translation the same day. Georgians recruited to Israel as caregivers or for other work, and Georgians applying for Israeli citizenship, need their Georgian conviction certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs apostilled and translated into Hebrew or English for the Population and Immigration Authority, with Israeli notarial certification where required, and we treat it as express work.
Divorce documents: the Rabbinate, the family court and the civil certificate
Israeli divorce is granted by the Rabbinical Court for Jewish couples through a גט, and recorded civilly by Misrad HaPnim in a תעודת גירושין; civil family courts handle the property and custody aspects and divorces of couples married abroad. A divorced Israeli marrying in Georgia presents the תעודת גירושין and, where the House of Justice asks, the Rabbinical Court's judgment or the family court's judgment, apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the court, translated into Georgian and notarized; the tamtzit rishum must show the divorced status. Israelis who married in Georgia and later divorce in Israel need the Georgian marriage certificate translated for the Israeli court, and Georgians married to Israelis who divorce in Georgia need the Georgian judgment translated into Hebrew for Misrad HaPnim. We translate these documents with the terminology of both systems and note where a Rabbinical document has no civil equivalent.
Soviet-era Georgian-Jewish records for the Law of Return
The documents that matter most for citizenship are often the oldest. Georgians proving Jewish descent under the Law of Return rely on Soviet-era records in which nationality was recorded: birth certificates showing the parent's nationality as Jewish, the parents' and grandparents' birth and marriage certificates, internal passports with the nationality line, military cards, school and employment records, and the records of the Georgian-Jewish communities and synagogues of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Oni, Akhaltsikhe, Kulashi, Sachkhere and Tskhinvali, alongside gravestone inscriptions in Hebrew and Georgian. These are handwritten or typed in Georgian and Russian, stamped and often faded. Our translators, several of them Georgian-Israeli, read Soviet administrative script fluently, translate every stamp and annotation, reconcile the Georgian, Russian and Hebrew forms of Georgian-Jewish surnames in a translator's note, and mark genuinely illegible words rather than guess. Where originals are lost, we request duplicates and archive extracts from the Georgian civil registry and the National Archives.
Bank statements, employment documents, and how to order
Georgian banks and the Public Service Development Agency want proof of income and, for banks, an explanation of where money comes from, and Israeli buyers of Georgian property are asked for source-of-funds documents. We translate Israeli bank statements from Bank Hapoalim, Bank Leumi, Discount, Mizrahi-Tefahot and the digital banks, אישורי העסקה and תלושי שכר, income confirmations from the Tax Authority, Bituach Leumi statements, property documents and pension statements. Bank statements and private documents need no apostille. Figures in shekels are translated with the currency stated exactly as in the source, and right-to-left tables are rendered so Georgian readers follow them. Turnaround is same day, because accounts and applications are usually waiting on these documents.
To order, send photos of every page, both sides, stamps legible, on WhatsApp; we reply in Hebrew, English or Russian within 15 minutes with a fixed quote. Passports, teudot zehut, driving licenses and bank statements need nothing further. For other documents the notary must see the apostilled original, which you bring to Agmashenebeli 117 near Marjanishvili Metro, or courier from Batumi. Delivery is by scan the moment the notary signs, by collection, by courier in Tbilisi the same day, or by courier to Batumi and any Georgian city the next day. Most personal documents are finished within the same afternoon.
