Admission to Georgian universities: diploma, pish-daneshgahi and transcripts
Admission to a bachelor's program at a Georgian university - most often English-language medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, engineering or IT - requires the Iranian high school diploma (diplom-e motevasseteh) and, for students of the older system, the pre-university certificate (pish-daneshgahi), with the transcripts (rizneh-ye nomarat) for each year; some programs ask for konkur results. Master's and doctoral admission requires the university degree (karshenasi, karshenasi-ye arshad) and transcript. Universities accept certified translations with our stamp for the initial application and require notarized translations of legalized originals for enrollment and for the Ministry of Education's recognition of prior education. Iranian education documents require prior confirmation from the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Science before the legalization chain, which students often discover too late; we explain this at the first contact. We translate the full packet within one business day, convert every date, and keep the student's transliteration and course glossary on file for their whole degree.
Transfers, credit recognition and students changing universities
Iranian students transferring from a university in Iran, from Turkey, Cyprus or another country, into a Georgian program need their transcripts translated course by course so the Georgian faculty can map credits, and students moving between Georgian universities need Georgian transcripts translated into English or Persian for the receiving institution. Iranian medical curricula follow a structure - basic sciences, physiopathology, externship, internship - that differs from Georgian ones, and our medical translators, who are physicians, map the course names to the terminology Georgian faculties use rather than translating literally, which makes the credit committee's work faster. Student status letters from Georgian universities are translated into Persian and legalized for Iranian military service deferral, for families, banks and sponsors, and for the Iranian embassy.
Georgian medical and dental degrees for recognition in Iran
The most important education file in this pair runs from Georgia to Iran. An Iranian graduate of a Georgian medical, dental or pharmacy program returning home must have the degree evaluated by the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, which maintains a list of approved foreign universities and requires the diploma, the transcript, proof of the program's length and clinical training, and often the passing of an evaluation examination; graduates of other fields go through the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology's evaluation. Each document is translated into Persian, notarized, certified by the Georgian MFA and legalized by the Iranian Embassy in Tbilisi, and then officially translated again in Iran on the basis of our text. We prepare the full packet during the student's final semester, including the university's accreditation documents and program descriptions the ministries ask for, and we keep the student's transliteration from their admission file so the Georgian and Persian records match.
Engineering, IT and other Georgian degrees for Iran and third countries
Iranian graduates of Georgian engineering, IT, business and architecture programs need the Ministry of Science evaluation packet, and many use their Georgian degree to apply for master's programs or jobs in third countries - Germany, Canada, Australia, Turkey - where the Georgian diploma is apostilled rather than consular-legalized and translated into English or German rather than Persian. We handle both routes and can prepare the diploma for Iran and for a third country in one order, since the Georgian original needs only to be apostilled once for all Hague destinations while the Iranian legalization is separate.
Iranian degrees for recognition and employment in Georgia
An Iranian degree used in Georgia - for a work permit, for a teaching, medical or engineering position, for admission to a Georgian master's or doctoral program, or for recognition at the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement - must be confirmed by the Iranian Ministry of Science or Ministry of Health, legalized through the chain and translated into Georgian and notarized in Tbilisi. We translate the diploma, the transcript and, when recognition is sought, course descriptions. Iranian medical graduates should expect the recognition body to ask for the internship certificate and the Ministry of Health license; engineers for the Nezam-e Mohandesi membership. Iranian grading on a 20-point scale is explained in a translator's note where the receiving institution asks.
Motivation letters, recommendations, CVs and timing
Iranian applicants to Georgian programs ask us to translate or edit motivation letters and CVs in English, and to translate recommendation letters from Iranian professors while preserving the signature block; graduates applying onward to Europe or North America use the same service. Doctoral candidates need thesis abstracts and publication lists translated. Native English and Persian editors with academic backgrounds handle these texts.
On timing: the translation is the fast part, usually one business day for a full packet. The slow parts are the ministry confirmations and the legalization chain in Iran, which together can take a month or more. For admission, start the Ministry of Education or Science confirmation and the chain as soon as the university's conditional offer arrives, and send us scans so the translation is ready when the legalized originals reach Tbilisi. For graduation, start the Georgian-side legalization in the final semester. Keep the legalized diploma safe, because it is reusable for every future step.
