Passports, kart-e melli and driving licenses
The passport is the first document every Iranian citizen in Georgia needs translated: for the residence permit, for university enrollment, for opening a bank account, for a lease, for property and for marriage. We translate and notarize the Iranian passport and the kart-e melli (national identity card, including the smart card version) from a clear photo, without the original and without legalization, and courier the notarized translation to you - the only fully online notarized translation in Tbilisi. Iranian driving licenses are translated for the Service Agency, for rental and insurance companies and for employers. The Georgian spelling of your name is fixed at the first translation, following the passport's Latin form, and kept on file together with the Persian original; the Hijri birth date on the kart-e melli is converted with the original shown alongside.
The shenasnameh: which pages, which entries, which dates
The shenasnameh is the core Iranian identity document, a booklet that records birth, parents, marriages, divorces, children and death in successive pages, and Georgian offices ask for it when a passport alone does not prove a family relationship: for family residence permits, for adding a spouse or child, for marriage at the House of Justice, for inheritance and for divorce. It must be legalized through the Iranian chain and the Georgian embassy before translation, and the legalization must cover every page that carries an entry, including the marriage and children pages, which is the most frequent error in shenasnameh files. We translate the booklet page by page, convert every date, and reproduce the registry office names and numbers, so a Georgian registrar can trace each entry. The newer electronic shenasnameh extracts and the sabt-e ahval (civil registration) certificates are translated the same way.
Police clearance certificate (gavahi-ye adam-e su-e pishineh)
Required for every Georgian temporary residence permit and for many employment contracts. The certificate is issued by the Iranian police through the judiciary's electronic services and is valid for a limited period; it must be officially translated, stamped by the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and legalized by the Georgian Embassy in Tehran before we translate and notarize it. Georgian practice treats a certificate older than a few months with suspicion, so time the request so that the legalized certificate reaches Tbilisi close to the application date, and send us a scan immediately so the Georgian translation is ready the same day the paper arrives. Students renewing their residence permits need a fresh certificate each time, and we keep their transliteration on file so the renewal matches the original permit.
Marriage documents, divorce documents and marriage in Georgia
Iranian marriage is recorded in the sanad-e ezdevaj (marriage document) issued by a marriage registry office and in the shenasnameh; divorce in the sanad-e talagh. Both are legalized through the chain and translated for Georgian family residence permits, for inheritance and for divorce proceedings in Georgian courts. An Iranian citizen marrying in Georgia presents a certificate of marital status from the Iranian civil registry or the Iranian Embassy in Tbilisi, legalized and translated, and for previously married applicants the divorce document. After a marriage in Georgia, the Georgian certificate is translated into Persian, notarized, certified by the Georgian MFA and legalized by the Iranian embassy for registration in Iran and entry in the shenasnameh. Mixed Iranian-Georgian marriages raise questions of religious formalities on the Iranian side that we can explain but not resolve; we prepare the documents both registries require.
Child travel consents, residence documents and proof of address
Georgian border police require a notarized consent from the non-travelling parent when a minor leaves Georgia with one parent, and Iranian law has its own rules on children traveling abroad that Iranian families in Georgia must satisfy at the embassy. We draft bilingual consents at our notary with an interpreter and translate consents issued in Iran for use at Georgian borders and schools. Proof of address and residence documents are requested by Georgian banks and by the Revenue Service for tax residency, and Georgian residence certificates are translated into Persian for Iranian tax, military service and consular purposes; Iranian men of military service age often need Georgian student status letters and residence documents translated and legalized for exemption or deferral procedures in Iran.
Bank statements, employment documents, and how to order
Georgian banks and the Public Service Development Agency want proof of income and, for banks, a detailed explanation of where money comes from. We translate Iranian bank statements from Bank Melli, Mellat, Saderat, Tejarat, Pasargad and others, employment contracts and income confirmations, tax records, property sale documents (sanad-e malekiyat and sale agreements), sponsorship letters from parents for student permits, and business documents. Bank statements and private documents need no legalization. Figures in Iranian rials and tomans are translated with the currency stated exactly as in the source, since the two units differ by a factor of ten and confusion is common. Turnaround is same day, because accounts and applications are usually waiting on these documents.
To order, send photos of every page, with stamps legible, on WhatsApp or Telegram; we reply in Persian within 15 minutes with a fixed quote and, for public documents, an explanation of the legalization chain and its timing. Passports, kart-e melli, driving licenses and bank statements need nothing further. For other documents the notary must see the legalized original, which you bring to Agmashenebeli 117 near Marjanishvili Metro when the translation is ready, or courier to us from Batumi or Kutaisi. Delivery is by scan the moment the notary signs, by collection, by courier in Tbilisi the same day, or by courier to any Georgian city the next day. Most personal documents are finished within the same afternoon once the legalized originals are in hand.
