Registering a Georgian company with Korean founders
A Korean 주식회사 or 유한회사 founding a Georgian subsidiary, branch or representative office submits a Georgian translation of its 법인등기부등본 (corporate registry extract), 정관 (articles of incorporation), 사업자등록증 (business registration certificate), the 이사회 의사록 or 주주총회 의사록 (board or shareholder minutes) approving the Georgian entity, and a 위임장 if a local representative files; the registry extract and business registration are apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, notarized minutes and 위임장 by the Ministry of Justice, and all are notarized in Tbilisi. Individual Korean founders submit a translated passport. We draft the Georgian charter bilingually with a parallel Korean column so the founder signs a text they can read, and we know the wording the National Agency of Public Registry expects for 자본금, 대표이사 and 본점. After registration, the Georgian Public Registry extract and charter are translated into Korean for the parent, its bank and its 회계법인.
Investment, construction and infrastructure contracts
Korean companies pursue Georgian hydropower, road, port, rail and building projects, often with Korean development finance, and Korean investors look at Georgian real estate, tourism and agriculture. The contracts - EPC and construction agreements, joint venture and shareholder agreements, concession and PPP documents, investment agreements with the Georgian government, supply and service agreements, land and premises leases - exist in Korean, English and Georgian, and the Georgian version is what a Georgian court or registry reads. We translate these with legal and engineering specialists working together, keeping defined terms, clause numbering and technical schedules consistent across all three languages, and flagging where a Korean law concept - the role of the 대표이사, 연대보증 joint guarantees, Korean commercial code provisions carried into Georgian contracts - needs a lawyer's decision on the Georgian equivalent.
KOICA, KOTRA and development cooperation documents
KOICA runs development projects in Georgia in agriculture, healthcare, IT and governance, and KOTRA supports Korean business entry, and both generate a distinct body of documents: project agreements with Georgian ministries, implementation contracts with Korean and Georgian partners, procurement documentation, progress and evaluation reports, training materials and handover protocols. We translate these between Korean, Georgian and English with translators familiar with development terminology and with the Georgian public sector, we provide interpreters for the meetings that generate them, and we maintain project glossaries and translation memories across multi-year programs.
Property, 위임장 and family matters
Korean buyers of Georgian property generate a bilingual file: the sale agreement, the Public Registry extract, the cadastral plan, the developer's documents and, for investment residence permits, the valuation report and proof of funds, translated into Korean for the buyer's records and into Georgian for the notary and registry. The 위임장 is the most frequent single document: a Korean in Seoul authorizing a representative in Tbilisi to buy, sell or manage property or to register a company, notarized by a Korean notary and apostilled by the Ministry of Justice, then translated and notarized here. Family matters between Korean and Georgian spouses - marriage contracts, divorce, custody, inheritance of Georgian property by Korean heirs or Korean property by Georgian heirs - require family relation certificates proving kinship, court decisions and inheritance documents translated and apostilled for the court or notary on the other side.
Court judgments, arbitration and enforcement
Korean judgments in family, commercial and succession matters are recognized and enforced in Georgia through proceedings requiring notarized Georgian translations of the 판결문, the 확정증명원 (certificate of finality) and supporting documents, all apostilled by the Ministry of Justice. Georgian judgments and notarized loan deeds go the other way for recognition and 집행 in Korean courts, translated into Korean with 번역공증 and apostilled. Arbitration under the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB), which Korean companies often specify, the ICC or the Georgian International Arbitration Centre produces bilingual submissions, witness statements, expert reports and awards which we translate under procedural deadlines. Litigation files are handled under NDA with restricted access.
재무제표, tax documents, confidentiality and how projects run
Georgian subsidiaries of Korean groups report to head office under K-IFRS, and Korean investors present accounts to Georgian banks and the Revenue Service. We translate 재무제표 (financial statements), 감사보고서 (audit reports), 거주자증명서 (tax residency certificates) for treaty relief under the Korea-Georgia double taxation agreement, VAT documents, transfer pricing files and bank confirmation letters, with accountants on the team reconciling every figure and stating won amounts exactly as the source does.
Every translator, editor and courier is bound by a non-disclosure agreement, files are encrypted and access is limited to the assigned team; we sign client-specific NDAs and data processing terms compliant with Korea's Personal Information Protection Act for Korean clients. Corporate clients get a glossary and translation memory from their first project. A project runs in a fixed pattern: fixed quote within the hour, a legal or financial specialist plus a reviewer, questions returned in a single batch, delivery in the original format, and notarization and apostille scheduled in parallel with translation. Framework agreements with monthly invoicing and priority notary slots are available for Korean companies, KOICA and KOTRA partners and law firms serving Korean clients.
