Mongolian Personal Documents - Translated and Notarized for Georgia and Mongolia, With the Names Right
The residence permit of a Mongolian coach, the admission file of a Mongolian student, the marriage at the House of Justice and the family reunification file are all built from a handful of personal documents that foreign registries misread because of how Mongolian names work. We translate them precisely, explain the names, and notarize in 1-2 hours.

Mongolian names, and why Georgian registries need a note
A Mongolian person has a given name (нэр), which is what everyone uses; a father's name (эцгийн нэр, or the mother's in some cases) in the genitive form, which the passport's "surname" line and most documents carry as if it were a family name; and a clan name (ургийн овог), restored in the 1990s and printed on the citizen ID card and some certificates but usually absent from the passport. The result is that a birth certificate, an ID card and a passport show the same person with different combinations, that a parent and a child never share a "surname", and that a married couple have unrelated "surnames" - all of which Georgian civil registrars, the Public Service Development Agency and banks read as discrepancies unless told otherwise. We transliterate from the passport's Latin line, keep the same arrangement on every document we translate for a person, and attach a translator's note explaining the convention and the clan name where it appears; Georgian offices accept this consistently, and we keep the note on file for every later document.
Passport, citizen ID card, registration number and driving license
Mongolian passports (гадаад паспорт) and citizen ID cards (иргэний үнэмлэх), which carry the 10-character registration number (регистрийн дугаар, two Cyrillic letters and eight digits encoding birth date and place), are translated into Georgian for residence permits, university enrollment, employment and federation registration, bank accounts, lease agreements, marriage at the House of Justice, company registration and property purchases. Because these are standardized documents, we translate and notarize them from a clear photo, without the original, and courier the notarized translation anywhere in Georgia. Mongolian driving licenses are translated for the Service Agency and for rental and insurance companies. The registration number is reproduced exactly, since Georgian offices use it as an identifier, and its letters are transliterated consistently.
Birth, marriage and death certificates in Cyrillic and traditional script
Mongolian civil status certificates are issued by the General Authority for State Registration (Улсын бүртгэлийн ерөнхий газар) and its local offices, in Cyrillic and, on recent documents, also in traditional script, and through e-Mongolia as certified digital copies; older certificates from the socialist period are in Cyrillic with Russian elements. Georgian authorities accept these, apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, translated and notarized here, for marriage registration, family residence permits, inheritance and divorce; students' birth certificates are asked for by some universities and by the Public Service Development Agency for minors. We translate directly from the Cyrillic, check the traditional script where present, and mirror the original field by field, including the registration office, the record number and the stamps, with the name note attached. In the other direction, Georgian birth certificates of children born to Mongolian parents in Georgia, and Georgian marriage certificates, are translated into Mongolian and apostilled for registration in Mongolia and for the child's Mongolian documents.
Criminal record certificate, medical certificates and athletes' documents
Georgian temporary residence permits and work permits require a criminal record check from the applicant's country. For Mongolian citizens that is the criminal record certificate (ял шийтгэлийн лавлагаа) from the police, issued through e-Mongolia or in person and apostilled by the MFA where the Georgian office requires it; we translate it into Georgian and notarize it in 1-2 hours. Athletes and coaches also need medical certificates, sports medical examinations, anti-doping documentation and vaccination records translated for federations, clubs and the residence permit, and the medical certificate (form 086-style health certificate) for university admission is translated with medical terminology by our medical team. Georgians going to Mongolia need the Georgian conviction certificate apostilled and translated into Mongolian, and Georgian athletes going to Mongolian clubs need the same medical and federation set.
Marriage in Georgia and in Mongolia
Mongolian citizens marrying in Georgia present a certificate of marital status from the civil registration authority or e-Mongolia, apostilled and translated, with the passport, and the House of Justice registers the marriage; the Georgian certificate is then apostilled and translated into Mongolian for registration in Mongolia, which the Mongolian spouse needs for the other partner's residence and for any later matter at home. A Georgian marrying in Mongolia applies at the civil registration authority with the Georgian birth certificate, a certificate of marital status and, if previously married, divorce documents, apostilled and translated into Mongolian, and Mongolian law applies conditions on marriage with foreigners that the registrar will explain. Because Mongolian spouses keep their own names and the couple's "surnames" are unrelated, the name note travels with the marriage file.
Child travel consents, address certificates, bank statements, and how to order
Georgian border police require a notarized consent from the non-travelling parent when a minor leaves Georgia with one parent, and Mongolia applies comparable rules; we draft bilingual consents at our notary with an interpreter and translate consents notarized in Mongolia for use at Georgian borders and schools, with attention to the parent-child name difference that border officers otherwise question. The e-Mongolia certificate of registered address is requested by Georgian banks and the Revenue Service, and Georgian residence certificates are translated into Mongolian for Mongolian authorities. Residence permits and property purchases require proof of income; we translate statements from Khan Bank, Golomt, Trade and Development Bank, Xac Bank and State Bank into Georgian, and Georgian statements from TBC, Bank of Georgia and Liberty into Mongolian, along with employment contracts, income certificates and social insurance records.
