Portuguese Interpreting in Tbilisi and Portuguese Localization for Portugal, Brazil and Lusophone Africa
Brazilian delegations at the embassy and in business, Portuguese investors and tourists, Angolan and Mozambican buyers, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and football professionals and evangelical churches - Georgia's Portuguese-speaking visitors need interpreters who know the setting. And a Portuguese-speaking market of 260 million people reads Georgian wine labels and tourism sites in two distinct variants. We provide both.

Portuguese interpreter at the notary and for property and company matters
Georgian law requires an interpreter for any party to a notarial act who does not speak Georgian, and the notary records the interpreter in the deed. Portuguese and Brazilian buyers of apartments in Tbilisi and Batumi, founders of Georgian companies, and parties to procurações, wills and marriage contracts use our notary at Agmashenebeli 117 with the interpreter built into the appointment: you receive the bilingual Georgian-Portuguese draft in advance, the interpreter reads each clause with you at the signing, and the notary certifies the act in one sitting. Georgians in Portugal who need a procuração for a Georgian matter use our interpreter by video for the drafting stage and sign before a Portuguese notary or the Georgian consulate in Lisbon, and we translate the result. We also accompany clients to the Public Registry, to banks and to the House of Justice, and we translate the Public Registry extract and cadastral plan into Portuguese for the client's bank or advogado at home.
Business, delegations and the Brazilian embassy
Brazil's embassy in Tbilisi hosts delegations in agriculture, energy, mining, education and culture, and Brazilian companies in agribusiness, meat and poultry exports, aviation and mining have Georgian counterparts; Portuguese companies in renewable energy, construction, cork, wine, textiles and IT trade with Georgia, and Angolan and Mozambican buyers come for Georgian wine, mineral water, fertilizer and construction materials, and for scholarships and medical education. We provide consecutive interpreters for negotiations, factory and vineyard visits, ministry meetings, trade fairs and delegation programs, and simultaneous interpreting with booth equipment for conferences, including Georgian-Portuguese-English configurations and remote simultaneous interpreting through Zoom. Our business interpreters distinguish the variants: a Brazilian delegation hears Brazilian Portuguese and a Portuguese one European, and vocabulary for company forms, taxes and contracts differs between the two.
Sports, churches, tourism and personal interpreting
Brazil's influence in Georgia runs through football and jiu-jitsu - Brazilian players and coaches in Georgian clubs, jiu-jitsu academies with Brazilian instructors, seminars and competitions - and through evangelical churches with Brazilian pastors and missionaries in Tbilisi and the regions; we interpret at contract signings, medical examinations, federation hearings, seminars, services and conferences. Portuguese and Brazilian tourists come for wine, mountains and Tbilisi's old town, and we supply Portuguese-speaking guides-interpreters for tours, for wine and food experiences in Kakheti and for cultural events. Portuguese and Brazilian residents use Georgian clinics, and an interpreter at the consultation, followed by translation of the records into Portuguese for the médico de família or the SUS, is a frequent request. For personal matters - school enrollment, landlord negotiations, utilities, telecom operators - we offer hourly accompaniment in Tbilisi.
Portuguese localization for Portugal and Brazil
Portuguese is spoken by around 260 million people, and two variants matter: European Portuguese for Portugal and, by convention, Angola and Mozambique, and Brazilian Portuguese for a market of over 200 million people, the largest in the language. The 1990 Orthographic Agreement narrowed spelling differences, but vocabulary, grammar and register still diverge enough that a Brazilian reads a Portugal-localized page as foreign and vice versa. Georgian wineries selling to Portugal's importers and Lisbon's restaurants, and to Brazil's growing wine market, need tasting notes, technical sheets and producer stories in the right variant, with alcohol, sugar and allergen statements meeting Portuguese and Brazilian labeling rules; we produce them with native editors for each. We localize tourism websites and booking engines, guesthouse and tour listings, real estate pages, restaurant menus, mobile apps and e-commerce stores into either or both variants, working directly in your CMS, in JSON and XLIFF files or in design files, adapting tone, currency (EUR or BRL), units and date formats, writing meta titles that match search behavior in each market, and testing the result on the live site.
Lusophone Africa, education marketing and proofreading
Georgian universities recruit students from Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde, mainly in medicine, dentistry, engineering and business, and their admission pages, program descriptions, agent materials and student guides need Portuguese versions written for that audience - European Portuguese conventions with the vocabulary those countries' education systems use; we produce them and translate the agent agreements and admission documents that follow. Georgian exporters to Angola and Mozambique need catalogs, certificates and correspondence in Portuguese, and we localize them with editors familiar with those markets. Georgian organizations write Portuguese for Portuguese and Brazilian partners, funding applications and academic collaboration; native editors polish that text, correcting agreement, clitic placement and register - which differ sharply between variants - and return tracked changes so your team learns from every edit. For companies producing Portuguese content continuously we offer a monthly editing retainer.
Booking and billing
To book an interpreter, send the date, place or meeting link, the subject, the variant your counterpart speaks and any documents to prepare from. Consecutive interpreting is billed hourly with a two-hour minimum on site in Tbilisi and no minimum beyond the first hour for remote sessions; regional trips to vineyards, factories and events in Kakheti, Imereti and Adjara are billed by day with travel at cost; simultaneous work is billed by half-day or day with two interpreters alternating. Native Portuguese and Brazilian interpreters are a small pool in Georgia, so book conferences and delegation programs a week ahead where possible; English on site and Portuguese by video are available at shorter notice.
