Nostrifikace is the gateway to studying and working in the Czech Republic with a Georgian qualification, and it runs on translated documents. We translate Georgian academic, vocational and school qualifications in the format the krajské úřady, the universities and the Ministry of Education each require, and Czech degrees for recognition in Georgia.

Nostrifikace of Georgian secondary education at the krajský úřad

A Georgian school leaving certificate used in the Czech Republic for university admission, for certain jobs or for the qualified worker programs must be recognized through nostrifikace at the krajský úřad (regional authority) of the applicant's place of residence, or in Prague at the Magistrát. The application requires the apostilled Georgian certificate with the national exam results, an officially certified Czech translation (by a soudní překladatel or a legalized foreign translation, depending on the office), a list of subjects and hours for the final years of schooling from the Georgian school, and sometimes a nostrifikační zkouška in subjects the Czech curriculum requires. Since 2023 many universities may recognize foreign secondary education themselves for admission purposes, which shortens the route for students. We translate the certificate and the subject list in the format the krajský úřad expects and arrange sworn certification where required.

Nostrifikace of Georgian university degrees

Georgian bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees are recognized by a Czech public university with a comparable program, which issues an osvědčení o uznání zahraničního vysokoškolského vzdělání; the Ministry of Education handles appeals and certain cases, and the Ministries of Defence and Interior handle their own fields. The application requires the apostilled diploma and supplement, an officially certified Czech translation, and for many programs the syllabus (studijní plán) with hours and credits so the university can compare content; Georgian medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing, engineering and law degrees are compared most carefully. Regulated professions have a separate uznání odborné kvalifikace through the relevant ministry - the Ministry of Health for doctors and nurses, the Ministry of Education for teachers - which requires translated proof of practice and, for health professions, an aprobační zkouška. Our medical translators, who are physicians, translate clinical subjects using the terminology of Czech medical faculties.

Czech university admission and student visas

Georgian applicants to Czech universities - Charles University, Masaryk University, the Czech Technical University, Brno University of Technology, the University of Economics and others, in Czech-language programs (free for all) or English-language programs - upload certified translations of the school leaving certificate with national exam results, or the diploma and supplement for graduate programs, and language certificates (Czech B2 or C1 for Czech programs, IELTS or TOEFL for English ones). Universities accept certified translations with our stamp for the application and require the apostilled and nostrified bundle at enrollment; the student visa at the Czech Embassy requires the admission letter, proof of funds and the Georgian conviction certificate translated. We translate the full Georgian packet in one business day and coordinate the nostrifikace timeline with the admission deadline.

Qualified worker programs and vocational qualifications

Georgia participates in the Czech government's Program kvalifikovaný zaměstnanec, through which Czech employers recruit Georgian workers for manufacturing, logistics, construction, healthcare and services with an accelerated employee card procedure. Employers and agencies send us the candidates' documents as a group: diplomas and vocational certificates, výuční list equivalents, work records and the conviction certificate, translated into Czech with consistent formatting, shared transliteration rules and a single invoice, which keeps the cost per candidate low and the embassy files uniform. Georgian nurses and caregivers recruited to Czech hospitals and care homes need their diplomas, curricula and work records translated for the Ministry of Health's recognition procedure. Georgians going the other way with Czech vocational qualifications - výuční list, maturitní vysvědčení from technical schools - need them translated into Georgian for Georgian employers.

Czech degrees for recognition and employment in Georgia

A Czech degree used in Georgia - for a work permit, for a teaching, medical or engineering position, for admission to a Georgian master's or doctoral program, or for recognition at the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement - must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and translated into Georgian and notarized in Tbilisi. We translate the diplom, the dodatek k diplomu, the výpis známek and, when recognition is sought, course descriptions. Czech medical graduates should expect the recognition body to ask for the atestace and Czech Medical Chamber registration; engineers for ČKAIT authorization where relevant. Graduates of the Czech Bc., Mgr., Ing. and Ph.D. system sometimes need a translator's note explaining the titles to a Georgian committee, which we provide.

School certificates, motivation letters, CVs and timing

Czech families in Tbilisi enroll children in international schools or Georgian public schools with vysvědčení and potvrzení o studiu translated; Georgian families moving to the Czech Republic need Georgian school records translated for the school and the krajský úřad, which places the child in the right year. Students need potvrzení o studiu and student status letters in the other language for visas, residence permits, banks and health insurance. Applicants ask us to translate or edit motivační dopisy and životopisy to Czech conventions, to translate doporučující dopisy while preserving the signature block, and doctoral candidates to translate thesis abstracts and publication lists; native Czech editors with academic backgrounds handle these.

On timing: nostrifikace at a krajský úřad takes weeks to months, university recognition of degrees several months, application deadlines for Czech universities fall in February and March for most programs, and the apostille on a Georgian diploma can take up to five business days. Start the apostille early, since the apostilled diploma is reusable, and ask for a digital certified translation first so you can upload it while the paper originals are in process.

Czech translation - frequently asked questions

Do I need nostrifikace of my Georgian school certificate to apply to a Czech university?+
Many universities can now recognize foreign secondary education themselves for admission; others still require the krajský úřad nostrifikace. We check the university's rule and prepare the translations accordingly.
Which office recognizes my Georgian medical degree in the Czech Republic?+
A Czech medical faculty issues the academic recognition, and the Ministry of Health handles the professional recognition with the aprobační zkouška. We prepare the translations for both.
Do you work with employers on qualified worker program groups?+
Yes. We process candidate groups as one project with consistent formatting, shared transliteration rules and a single invoice.
How long does a full academic packet take?+
Diploma, supplement and transcripts are usually ready within one business day. Apostille adds up to five business days, and sworn certification in the Czech Republic a few more where required.
