Nostryfikacja of Georgian degrees at Polish universities
A Georgian university degree used in Poland for a regulated profession, for public sector employment or where an employer requires formal equivalence goes through nostryfikacja at a Polish university with a comparable program, which compares the curriculum and may require supplementary examinations or a placement before issuing a zaświadczenie o uznaniu; for non-regulated employment, NAWA's opinion on the level of a foreign qualification often suffices, and NAWA's online tool tells employers whether a Georgian degree gives the same rights as a Polish one. The nostryfikacja application requires the apostilled diploma and suplement or wykaz ocen with tłumaczenia przysięgłe, the program of studies with hours and credits, and a fee. Medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing, veterinary and law degrees are compared most carefully; Georgian medical graduates seeking Polish licensing additionally face the Lekarski Egzamin Weryfikacyjny and Polish language requirements at the Naczelna Izba Lekarska. Our medical translators, who are physicians, translate clinical subjects using the terminology of Polish medical faculties.
Kuratorium: recognition of Georgian school certificates
A Georgian school leaving certificate used in Poland for university admission or for jobs requiring secondary education is recognized by the kurator oświaty of the region where the applicant lives or the university is located, which issues a decyzja confirming equivalence to the Polish świadectwo dojrzałości; since 2015 Polish universities may recognize foreign secondary certificates themselves for admission, which most do, so the kuratorium route matters mainly for employment and for some programs. The application requires the apostilled certificate with national exam results, a tłumaczenie przysięgłe and a list of subjects, and we translate these in the format the kuratorium expects. Georgian children in Polish schools, a large group, have their Georgian records recognized through the school and the kuratorium for placement.
Polish university admission and the student visa
Georgian applicants to Polish universities - the University of Warsaw, the Jagiellonian University, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Poznań, Łódź, Lublin, Warsaw University of Technology, AGH, SGH and the medical universities, in Polish-language programs (which are tuition-free for holders of the Karta Polaka and paid for others) and English-language ones - apply through university recruitment portals, uploading certified translations of the school leaving certificate with national exam results, or the diploma and supplement for graduate programs, and language certificates (Polish at B1 or B2 for Polish programs, or IELTS and TOEFL for English ones). Universities accept certified translations with our stamp for the application and require apostilled originals with sworn translations at enrollment; the visa D for study at the Polish Embassy requires the admission letter, proof of tuition payment and funds, and health insurance, and the karta pobytu for study follows in Poland. Polish government scholarships through NAWA and the Banach and Kirkland programs have their own document lists. We translate the full Georgian packet in one business day.
Polish degrees for recognition and employment in Georgia
A Polish degree used in Georgia - for a work permit, for a teaching, medical or engineering position, for admission to a Georgian master's or doctoral program, or for recognition at the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement - must be apostilled by NAWA after university authentication and translated into Georgian and notarized in Tbilisi. We translate the dyplom, the suplement do dyplomu, the wykaz ocen and, when recognition is sought, sylabusy. Polish degrees carry titles - licencjat, inżynier, magister, magister inżynier, lekarz, doktor - that a Georgian committee needs explained, which we do in a translator's note; medical graduates should expect the recognition body to ask for the dyplom specjalisty and Naczelna Izba Lekarska registration, and Georgians returning from Polish medical universities are a growing group.
Workers' qualifications, Karta Polaka and vocational documents
Georgians recruited to Polish factories, construction companies, logistics firms, transport companies and hospitals need translated qualifications where the job requires them: technical school diplomas, świadectwa czeladnicze equivalents, welding and machinery operator certificates, driving licenses and professional driver qualifications for the kod 95, and for healthcare workers nursing and caregiver diplomas with curricula and work records for the Naczelna Izba Pielęgniarek i Położnych recognition. Employers and agencies send us candidate groups, which we process with consistent terminology and the Polish names of occupations. Georgians of Polish descent applying for the Karta Polaka need Polish and Georgian archival and civil records translated, including Latin parish records, for the consulate. Polish vocational and technical qualifications used in Georgia are translated and notarized for Georgian employers.
Motivation letters, recommendations, CVs and timing
Georgian applicants to Polish programs ask us to translate or edit listy motywacyjne and życiorysy to Polish or Europass conventions, and to translate listy rekomendacyjne while preserving the signature block; doctoral candidates need thesis abstracts and publication lists translated, and researchers collaborating with Polish institutions use our editors for articles. Native Polish editors with academic backgrounds handle these texts.
On timing: nostryfikacja takes up to ninety days by law after a complete application, kuratorium decisions a few weeks, Polish university recruitment runs from spring to summer with the visa D following, tłumacz przysięgły re-certification takes a few days, and the apostille on a Georgian diploma can take up to five business days. Start the apostille early, since the apostilled diploma is reusable, and ask for a digital certified translation first so you can upload it while the paper originals are in process.
